The ghost who walks is a charming guy with a moustache and in a move considered bad for a mayavi, he falls in love with a human woman. Now what? Can they ever have a life together?
Amol Palekar weaves a charming tale based on an Indian play Duvidha. SRK is the charming ghost who falls in love with Rani Mukherjee, a young married woman. Nothing eerie or scary about this *ghost-tale*… Just a lot of gorgeous colors, charming songs and beautiful photography. SRK is decent; his moustache looks completely phony! Rani Mukherjee is gorgeous and as competent an actress. Rajpal Yadav shows up in a small and extremely memorable role. Designer ghagras, embroidered cholis, resplendent dupattas, graceful camels, saffron turbans, huge courtyards, lovely women…. characterise Paheli.

No words on the Big B and Juhi Chawla? You seem to have rather liked it.
It was one of the rare Hindi movies to be screened here, yesterday. But i decided not to go …….

Oops, forgot about Big B. Movie was refreshingly different… nice one-time watch, if only for the fabulous photography and gorgeous Rani Mukherjee.

On a different note… This year, the German Art of Living Ashram is going to be the venue for the Guru Poornima celebrations. Guruji will also be there… From what I have heard, it’s a gorgeous place and the celebrations are wonderful… In case you find the time (and inclination), you must go!

Time may not be too hard to find, inclination is another matter altogether 🙂
