I happened to catch the last part of an interview on CNN. The person in question was Chaille Stovall, a 15 year old American boy who has been described as a maverick documentary maker. This kid has been in the business since the age of 9, I think. His last offering was ‘The Little Monk’, shot extensively in North India. This film profiled the life of a young boy who forsakes all his possessions in order to join a Buddhist monastery.
Quite an impressive record Chaille has for someone so young! When asked what he wanted the Western kids to learn from his films, he remarked,”I want them to be more tolerant….[know] that there is a world outside their house.”

i went to the site. my first reaction is that of disbelief. (looking at the credits for one of the documentaries, almost everyone involved is a child … well, the max age was 16 or sth).

It’s amazing how much he’s done at such a young age – will be interesting to watch the movies he’s made, as well as to see what he comes up with as he grows older.
