Watched this awful film called ‘Shaadi Ke Laddoo’ at Kau’s place yesterday. I wonder what made us pick this DVD out. Well, it might have SOUNDED more appealing than either of the two ‘Hawas’ thingies, I guess!
(As Uncle would say,”Beta, ‘Hawas’ le lo. Do ‘Hawas’ hain”. Ugh!!!)
Mallika Sherawat and ‘Murder’ are anyway too embarassing to watch. I wonder why I had such an extreme reaction to all that ‘seduction’ in Murder whereas any Hollywood film gets clean away with a whole greater amount of skin-show or sex. Whatever be the reason, ‘Murder’ was a total turn-off. The rain, the chiffon saree, all that … plus B-A-D actors made it a total no-show.
Coming back to ‘Shaadi ke Laddoo’, starring Sanjay Suri(he’s such a darling, why DID he pick up this ridiculous role?), Ashish Kapoor(as Sunju Dutt lookalike as one could get PLUS a far worse actor), Mandira Bedi(apart from that fab hair, not a thing to redeem her) and the worst of them all, Divya Dutta(the voice, the makeup, the sarees, the acting… OUCH!)… Don’t even go there. Seriously, Divya Dutta should be banned from films.

I liked Divya dutta about 10 years ago when she used to compere a Bollywood Countdown on DD Metro. And I remember liking her then.

Even back then, I thought her loud and loud.. and plain loud. Has she ever heard of voice modulation, I wonder?

Why hollywood gets away …
it maybe that … since we identify with characters in desi movies, any aberration makes us cringe more. often we allow / endure shortcomings in *strangers*; but are unrelentingly demanding with our own. (ever noticed how we are extra courteous, extra forgiving towards *strangers* ?)

Re: Why hollywood gets away …
Not really true, Sonal.. Lemme try to articulate on this. Murder was about sex, seduction, clandestine stuff blah blah… no pretenses on that. The deliberate attempt, the obviousness of it.. plus the awful actors.. all that made it a total put-off. Maybe if there were competent actors doing the same stuff, the entire story might have appeared more appealing, convincing. MAYBE…

Ok, noted all those avoidable movies – thanks π
Looks like you don’t like ‘Sanju baba’? As for banning people from movies, the simple way is to give their movies a miss – if enough people do that, the desired result is achieved (more often than not!).
