Doc… sick!

Visited the Doctor this morning to get my fever symptoms and sore throat’n’nose checked. Waded through reams of papers and forms, I must have signed on God-knows-how-many sheets… Stating all kinds of indemnity clauses, I suppose…
Initially, I was attended to by an Afro-American lady whose accent I had a HUGE problem following… Thankfully, she wasn’t the doctor, as I realised later. I am not aware of what she conveyed to the Doc…. anyways, he had an impression that I needed a consultation on birth control pills!
It’d suffice to say that my experience with American health care has been…. not-so-happening(for want of a better adjective)… Give me Dr. Rekha Patel’s homely clinic any day!

Watched a nice film this afternoon… ‘Ruthless People’ *ing Bette Midler, Danny De Vito and others. Quite comic and packed a lot of decent laughs too…

Have been hearing this song ‘Zihaal-e-miskii Mukon baranjish…’ from the Hindi film ‘Ghulaami’ since the past couple of days… Learnt that it’s originally a Persian ghazal penned by Amir Khusro. That led me to find out more fundas about Khusro and Sufism… Tres interessant, must say..
I’d like to visit Delhi during the Urs time… Should be a treat hearing the Sufi qawaals… I am rather entranced by the entire concept of Sufism.. It appears to be so completely pure, selfless, surrendering….

Like the concept of Jogan… Maybe I’ll try to read up more on it…
