I have been listening to Ni Main Jaana Jogi De Naal and I realized that, for the longest period of time, I assumed that Yogi and Jogi meant two different persons. A Jogi, I thought, implied one who roamed around the world, unfettered by any familial responsibilities, totally devoted to the Divine and living in a state of complete bliss. And I thought that a Yogi was a severe individual, one who practised rigorous austerities and rituals and engaged in knowing more about God.
The outwardly differences are utterly superficial.
Bliss may be out there in the open for all to see or it may be hidden within oneself, peeking out of one’s shining eyes and irrepressible smile. It may reside in the song I sing or in the one that plays from my heart, unheard by any human ear. Some days, it threatens to burst out of me and on some others, it keeps me glowing from the inside.
Sure, some of us have jobs and families, own homes and cars, go on cruises and holidays… but within each one of us lives the soul of a Yogi/Jogi.

phenomenal.
now that you mention, Yogi does often get referred to as ‘Hatthh Yogi’ and Jogi as the sanyaasi!. But indeed they are the same. As much same as we are to that state of being, as you mentioned.
to me, that who stills his mind enough to reflect the infinite core within, is a yogi.
i think am planning to be a ‘khadaau’ [the wooden footwear] of a yogi, to learn just that wee bit, for my sail to have enough wind.
