Pinch and I joined the gym once more this week. Went for swimming and man! I amazed myself! It’s probably more than two years since I stopped swimming. I was expecting to pant, huff, puff all through and barely manage to swim a single length/lap. Well, I swam nearly 10 lengths and wonder of wonders, I felt so totally tireless… I was surprised, to say the least!
Thought that that was one of the things that happens when you begin something…Didn’t Murphy connote a name for that phenomenon? Well, a couple of days later, 11 lengths and I was H-A-P-P-Y!
Yesterday saw some 11-12 lengths… Khush kar diya!
Need to keep swimming regularly… I really enjoy it! But yeah, we decided that there was a lot in case of techniques and styles that we have to learn… After a few months, we could take lessons or something!
The bestest thing is, I could swim A LOT more than Pinch!!! Yoo-Hoo!
He’s a better hiker, a better climber…. Maybe I sing better! Dancing? Me is better…? Atleast I think so! Crosswords? He is MUCH better…Tech stuff? I stand nowhere..:-((
Swimming? I can swim BETTER!!!
Talk about a crazy Saturday mood…:-)))

Wow…sounds like a lot of fun. I’ve always wanted to learn swimming coz i have this huge fear of drowning and I want to get over it. But the sad part abt B’bay is that u need to be a member at some gymkhana and its so goddamn expensive so I haven’t got to learning. I believe in the Summers they have special batches so I’m trying to find out more. Tell me…how long does it take to learn swimming?

good going..seems like you’re in excellent physical shape to be able to swim so effortlessly…swimming is great fun, and not ‘exercise exercise’ if y’ know what i mean..

Xactly… I prefer swimming to sweating it out on some treadmill or puffing over some weights.. But the truth is, working out with weights is beneficial in a different way and swimming can’t replace that. Weight training builds bone strength and muscle tone… in fact, swimming can replace the Exercycle and the treadmill.. but nothing else.

Swimming
What is one length ? 50 metres or 25 metres ?
It is so nice and refreshing to swim. It gives you a lot of fresh air also and improves your stamina and appetite. Keep it up and do not stop it due to usual laziness to get up, especially during the winter.

Re: Swimming
A normal length in case of an Olympic-size pool is 50 m. The pool that I am talking about is half of that i.e. the dimensions are 25×12.5 m…
It is a wonderful feeling, I agree… And now that summer is due, the laziness factor isn’t too strong, either…:-)
