I’ve realised that I’m too fast. I read too fast(maybe the aftermath of CAT study where one is required to ‘speed-read’ or practise ‘vertical reading’; I do that!), I think a bit too rapidly, I react too soon… Well, I’ve decided to be S-L-O-W and E-A-S-Y. Somewhat like that prince who’s on a ration of words and hence has to be slow and careful while saying or doing anything…:-)
During the AOL session last night, we watched a video of Sri Sri addressing a gathering at Florida in 1995. He talked briefly about sincerity of purpose. He spoke about how even in times of turmoil and trouble, sincerity keeps one at peace and rested. I was reminded of the Mahabharata when Arjuna experiences self-doubt and considers renouncing his kingdom and rights as opposed to fighting his cousins. I wonder what classic logic could Lord Krishna have presented to make him think otherwise. Was it something like what Sri Sri mentioned? Plan to start reading the Gita on a regular basis; thankfully I have a wonderful copy which explains the entire meaning in English and gives the Sanskrit verses with the pronounciations too. Will be wonderful to read Sanskrit again, after nearly 10 years…
On a comic note, I snipped off a portion of my right eyebrow. Not that funny as it may appear… am awaiting comments from my ‘Aryaputran’..:-))

Yup, action preceded by consideration is often a good idea, but one can overdo it as well 🙂
Given that your hubby seems quite ‘stable’, he might not be unduly disturbed by the sight of your ‘trimmed’ eyebrow, i guess.

I love Krishna’s address to Arjun in the Mahabharata. Where did you get the copy of yor Gita from? Seems interesting, with English translation et al.

Dunno, Dee… It’s a blue-covered book with commentary by Swami Chidbhavananda. It’s my father’s copy and he bought it in 1969. I lent it to my then-BF(current hubby) who didn’t ever return it…:-)
If you find a copy, you must buy it, I think.. It’s quite a treasure!

hey
got this link from yasho. you write really great stuff. i read one of your blogs where you’ve written that you have no particular talent. i’m amazed at your clarity of thought; don’t be so cynical though.
some of my blogs have been very cynical, and my mom totally freaked out after reading them. she thought i was in some major crisis(which i thought i was in…in any case).
happy writing (and cooking)!

Hey Uma! Great to read from you…
I am ultra-cynical and overly critical.. but only when it comes to myself. Guess I am rather unfair towards me…:-)
