Musings…

This is not just a lamp, it symbolises home, Amma, Achchan, Geetu, my family in Kerala, Kathakali, Onam lunches, Vishu mornings.

While in B’bay, I was extremely lucky to have a house surrounded by coconut palms and lots of greenery. No, I didn’t live on the beach. Just that my home faced this South Indian temple complex and they grew a lot of trees and plants in their huge backyard. They used to have frequent wedding celebrations, birthday functions and other festivities. It was very usual to wake up to the sound of conch shells, temple bells, drums and chants. It was a great place to grow up in.
Again, I have been lucky to have a room with a view even if it is the tiniest living room there ever existed. Oh, I am being snobbish!

Who’d have thought that Fall would traipse through this small suburb in Atlanta and leave such beauty behind?

Sadly enough, this tree is all stripped of his lovely foliage and stands plain and brown today…:-(
