Jai Guru Dev

“How come you’re so cute?”
This was a question someone threw at Gurudev this weekend and pat came His answer, “Purely by accident! Not deliberate or pre-planned…”

This was one of the loveliest weekends ever. It rained in Montreal, we worked silently in the Ashram garden plucking vegetables, digging trenches, pulling out weeds, getting drenched. More than four hundred people came visiting this weekend. Some stayed for the course, some came for Seva, some came to meet Gurudev. Aah, the heart is so filled right now. With happiness, gratitude, joy!

Everytime I meet Guruji, tears course down my cheeks. And I am not the only one to whom this happens. I wondered briefly why this happens. I think it’s just that, when you see such beauty before you, your breath gets caught in your throat. You feel so privileged to be in such a presence, such a feeling of gratefulness wells up within – tears pour forth.

Tere charanon mein Swami mere koti pranaam…
[Crores of prostrations of mine at your feet, Swami…]

To all of you who have never met Him, I have a suggestion. Go meet Him, if you get a chance. There is none other like Him!

Madhurashtakam was written for Lord Krishna and today, the only person I can dedicate this beautiful composition to is Gurudev.
