I watched very few sitcoms while I was in India. I simply couldn’t spare the time. I watched Friends rather infrequently. Maybe that’s why I still haven’t had enough of them unlike many of you! I started watching Frasier and Seinfeld regularly once I got here. Even though Seinfeld is the more popular of the two, I can’t help liking Frasier more. I agree, it’s more conservative than Seinfeld and somehow that’s what makes it nicer to me. Seinfeld is so much about the idiosyncrasies of people and that makes it a far more insightful commentary on human beings than Frasier makes any pretense of doing. Frasier is all about the Crane family and the other random characters in Frasier Crane’s life. It’s very rarely that one hears the ‘s’ of sex in Frasier but Seinfeld is a lot more frank and *liberated* in that aspect.
Can’t believe that I blogged about something like this….! What the heck…:-)
Reminds me of some kinda exam question along the lines of ‘State the differences between Frasier and Seinfeld.’

Ahh Frasier. I love it just for wordplay in everything they say. Everything can be interpreted two ways – or more. And funny ways at that.

Absolutely… the language, the sheer play of words, the clever usage… it’s too good.

I vote for Niles. His face lends itself to such a severe *lack* of expression.
🙂
Now I begin to miss TV

Oh no..his face acquires a range of silly expressions when Daphne is around!I also love the way he wipes his seat before sitting..and the fact that he is such a pompous, yet lovable prude!

I love his way with words. Actually, that’s true for both the Crane brothers. And the way they go into rhapsodies over a set of classic hand-towels! Absurd…:-)

I love Kramer in Seinfeld. I mostly watched Seinfeld coz of him, and eventually got addicted to the show. I really miss it now.
I’m also awaiting new seasons of Frasier. I absolutely love Niles in the show. Another show that I came to love, after hating it initially is “Everybody loves Raymond.” I make it a point to get back from work early on mondays,so i can watch Everybody loves Raymond, That 70s show, and Becker!
Gosh..i’m addicted to sitcoms!:d
