Pinch was sure that this was going to be one helluva pakaao film and griped SO MUCH about having to go watch it. Anyway, he came out of the theater beaming… 🙂 Cheeni Kum is an entertaining film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu and Paresh Rawal. It is funny – AB starred in Nishabd, a film that played on the older man-younger woman love story – I haven’t seen the film but the trailers portrayed it as so intense, glum, not-so-happy and here is Cheeni Kum that is based on the same theme and yet it is such fun. Nothing gloomy or sad about this film – it is funny and cute in parts. Tabu looks beautiful and she has worn such fabulous clothes in the film (trust me to notice that!). AB is cool, like he generally is and Paresh Rawal plays the part of Tabu’s irate Dad to the hilt. The film is worth a watch, for sure.

Cheeni Kum is the first Indian movie I saw in a theatre after moving to west coast. I liked it. It could have been better, but no complaints. 🙂
I loved the way Ilayaraja adapted his old songs for this movie, particularly the title song, which in its original, Mouna Raagam, was a sad song.
