I can literally sense a huge collective sigh of relief from all quarters – old, young, working, privileged, African-American, Hispanic. I can see class discussions, research papers, dissertations, final year projects emanating from last night’s decision. Overwhelming the sigh of relief is the exhilaration and jubilation… like it’s Christmas!
Here’s a guy who rose to no provocation, refused to give into pettiness, soared above the pretenses and small-mindedness – can this be real? If I am rubbing my eyes with disbelief, I can only imagine the surreality of this situation to generations of African-Americans. What a day, wow… what a day.

Akin to million, my admiration to Obama has been on the upward curve. Even when I try to strip out the emotion (both perceived and transfered out of equation), a whole lot of admiration remains. Yesterdays, acceptance speech was a prime example. “What a speech!”.
My impression about America has change quite a bit in the past two days. I just hope that this promise and dream is true. I hope that the essence behind the shouts of the ‘yes we can’ can find collectively strength and existence for prolonged period of time and bring about the change.
