The images and stories in our head are so much more vivid than what actually appears before the eyes. In my mind, the Hindi remake of ‘Notting Hill’ would be perfect if William’s role would be played by Sanjay Suri and Anna’s part would be essayed by Sushmita Sen. They are both sober, sensible, good-looking and talented actors. I had heard about ‘Doctors’ by Erich Segal being made into a mini-series (or did I imagine it?) and it struck me that I would not be able to accept any actor to play the part of Barney. Or Laura, for that matter. Laura would always be this blonde, beautiful, golden lady and Barney would be the best friend one could ever have. And no real actor would ever fit either part. Our mind has this fantastic ability – to add colour where exists none, to bestow taste to bland objects, to breathe fragrance into dead things. It is the single-most powerful faculty that brings life into everything in this world. There is nothing outside of us, the world is in our head, in our mind.

I always imagined a young Tom Hanks would play Barney. Or then Tom Everett Scott from ” That Thing you Do”
When I read the trivia for that movie on IMDB…this is what I found
“Tom Hanks was initially opposed to hiring Tom Everett Scott because of Scott’s strong resemblance to a younger Hanks. He was finally convinced by his wife, Rita Wilson, who thought Scott was cute.”
