But Imran can act, for sure! With his good looks and boy-next-door charm, he carries Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na forward effortlessly on his broad shoulders. Genelia D’Souza is cute as Aditi, Imran’s BFF who does not realize until the film is into the last reel who she actually loves. Of course, we know who she loves… as always. The supporting cast is endearing – Jiggy (the Gujarati dude who can really pass off as a girl – he’s cute in the androgynous way!), Shaleen (the good friend who knows-it-all and doesn’t say much with words, although her expressions say it all), Bombs (she really must be Reese Witherspoon’s long lost twin sister) and Rotlu (haven’t seen a balding guy on screen in a long time who is one of the friends of the hero).
It’s nice to hear Bombayspeak after such a long time. Yeah, after so many years, I still speak like a proper Bombayite… mixing Hindi and English with equal ease and grace… π The film has been shot in St. Xaviers… Brought back foggy memories of cool winter nights spent in the quadrangle listening to Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Gangubai Hangal, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and other greats during Janfest… wow, those were the *best* days of my life!

Cool blog (came here through purely-narcotic’s)…yeah, must admit ‘jaane tu..’did send us down memory lane, and it was after a very long time (in fact, wait..the first time)that a group of youngsters acted so well, you could not tell it was acting..naturals all. Ditto thoughts about ‘bombs’…in fact i kept mixing her up for reese throughout the movie..
