“Don’t let that horse”
Don’t let that horse
eat that violin
cried Chagall’s mother
But he
kept right on
painting
And became famous
And kept on painting
The Horse With Violin In Mouth And when he finally finished it he jumped up upon the horse
and rode away
waving the violin
And then with a low bow gave it
to the first naked nude he ran across
And there were no strings
attached
— Lawrence Ferlinghetti
Hahah, what imagery, it is really funny. I admire poets who can create such vivid pictures with their words and rhymes. In fact, many poems don’t even rhyme!

I agree…:-) I like that last line about ‘no strings attached’. Seems like a hidden pun to me!

One there was a lil girl
With a pretty curl
Mum said put it away
She said no way
The lil girl became big
And pulled a lil gig
Found a guy so mad
That made her mum so sad
The lil girl ran away one day
And made a baby in the hay
Her mommy just fainted
To hear bout the grandkid
A lil girl in the haystack
With a pony in her backpack
She found a brush one day
And painted in dismay
The pony became big
And dragged the lil girl in a dig
Mommy cry gramma holler
But they lived happily ever after
Okay…lol I think i am drunk Locks!
