Visited Auburn today. It is a small university town in Alabama, a two-hour drive from Atlanta. A quaint little town, Auburn has a somewhat wild beauty to it. No manicured lawns or trimmed bushes; everything seems to grow wild. Leaves scattered all over the yard, trees shedding all over, I loved it! None of the artificial landscaping and picture-perfect houses that one sees in Atlanta. Total delight in *disorder*! I saw so many bushes, shrubs and plants that I’ve never seen in this city. I mean, it was almost as if someone decided to spare Auburn of all the shears and green lawns and marble fountains and stone angels. Decided to let Auburn be. I loved the town.

Yes, it is. I didn’t know that AU was such an old university. Apparently, it was established in 1856.

I guess some places look good when left wild. The moment we try to tame something the beauty is lost. Thats the reason some of the beautiful places are the wild forests.
