Aaj kal paanv zameen par nahin padte mere
Bolo dekhaa hai kabhii tumne mujhe udate hue
Aaj kal paanv zameen par nahin padte mere…
The perfect song! Have been very busy over the last week. Baked cookies for an early X’Mas party, did up a huge tree with lovely ornaments, decorated a huge house, cooked, cleaned, swept, clicked pics, dressed… It has been a very busy week and a lovely one at that. Unfortunately, my entire respiratory system seems to have gone for a toss. Ever know the feeling when you wake up feeling clogged all over your face? Nose, throat, head… Well, that’s how it has been. But that hasn’t spoiled anything for me!

Really? Fortunately or unfortunately, I have never taken anything for fever, cold, sore throat etc. No vitamins, tablets, painkillers… Just can’t bring myself to pop anything medicinal into my mouth unless I absolutely have to!

Ohh… I am looking for the equivalent of the Indian santra but all I keep finding are versions of mosambi which is so tough to peel with fingers! Do you know of any decent equivalents? Nectarines, tangerines….?

lalunadiosa says:
tangerines and clementines come pretty close to santras
nectarines are like peaces but w/o the fuzzy skin….don’t know if they contain C but they just might!!!!

Beautiful song from a beautiful soundtrack …… great to know you’re having such a good time that even a clogged system can’t get in the way, and hope you’re rid of the clogging real soon.

Looks like the clog will keep appearing and reappearing this season!

Gosh! You’re FAST! Just posted that comment…!
Well, guess it’s the dryness and low temperatures which cause these sniffles…

There must be a way to avoid being at the weather’s mercy …. or to at least minimise the negative impact.

Get to drink the orange juices that are made from natural foods (the one that says lots of pulp) and not the ones that are made from concentrate. And why is so that you are not able to find oranges? I see them at any grocery store I go out here. And the other best way is use Vicks Vaporub with hot water and inhale the steam by covering your head with a towel or something π (believe me this would definitely help).

Inhalation is a great idea; has worked wonders in the past. Should try that except I have no Vicks Vaporub at home! Thanks for the tip, anyway…:-)

It does work for me especially in these cold winters π
Cool, try it out when you get a chance to buy Vicks (I am not sure but you could try with Zandu Balm or Amrutanjan, but they might burn your eyes a lot more than Vicks).

And one more thing that can work, if you drink tea is to drink Adrak ki Chai (Garam garam).

like, ‘walking on clouds.’ Happy for you.
Hey sorry for the cold. My favorite is “haldi-dudh”
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon haldi
some grated ginger
heat and simmer in a saucepan (easier to do two cups btw)
strain and sip hot with honey or sugar to taste.
Aaaaaah!
and ofcourse the nectarines or clementines are good. So are Kiwi Fruits – loaded with vitamin C and they don’t get in your finger nails.

Ugh, I hate manja paaluh as turmeric+milk was called at our place. That actually translates to ‘yellow milk’ in Malayalam. I have AWFUL memories of struggling with a glass of turmeric milk for SO MANY mornings, just trying to glug it down.
All with the promise of clearing up my throat so that I could sing as well as Geetu…:-)
