Saturday saw the hike to Fort Mountain and Sunday saw me hobble around the house clutching my bum in sheer agony…:-)Not to mention pressing my calves and thighs constantly while my better half laughed out loud! Well, the hike was walking intensive and involved very less climbing(my fear which I am determined to beat someday!)… The site was called Fort Mountain and it was in Chatsworth which is about 1.5-2 hours driving distance from Atlanta.
The group was good, slightly reserved though, all students at G. Tech. Pinch, Kau and I were the oldest guys, I think. There was Miller too who had started the organisation about 30 years back. He must have been in his early 60s and man! His stamina was wonderful; he always led the group, ALWAYS!
The next weekend is going to be an overnight hike spanning Saturday and Sunday. Lets’ see how that shapes up….
On a more indoor aspect, I watched ‘Kalfornia’ and fell in love with Brad Pitt all over again. It’s wonderful how he plays roles which are so utterly deglamorised that his brilliant looks always take second place to his character. Ditto for Johny Depp… Saw the last parts of ‘Edward Scissorhands’ and wow! he is a brilliant actor.
‘Casino’ on Sunday night.. Great acting by Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci.
Got ‘The Impressionist’ by Hari Kunzru(interesting storyline from the brief plot mentioned), ‘Parachutes and Kisses’ by Erica Jong(looks like a girlie/woman book), something by Graham Greene and ‘The Cider House Rules’ by John Irving. Now, I’ve read the script of the film and wasn’t too entranced. Also, I’ve read ‘The 158-pound marriage’ by Irving and it kinda left me cold. Now I wonder why I picked up this one….
Don’t I love Floyd….!!!!

I picked up ‘A Prayer…’ and placed it back when I remembered my ‘The 158-pound marriage’ experience. But yes, I shall give it a try, thanks.

I like the way you guys go on frequent treks…that’s quite cool!
I love Johnny Depp, the original stud boy and Brad Pitt, the original chocolate boy.

Dee, I did a fair bit of trekking in Bombay too. In and around the Sahyadris… If you’re interested, I can pass along details… If you’re talking about some of the loveliest places to trek, sign up for the trek to Valley of Flowers, Garhwal.
My sister has done it, so has my cousin.. It’s a great trek sometime in September…
