Got this recipe for rasam (Imagine a Malayalee NOT knowing to make rasam!) from some website, got started on cooking… Somewhere in between, I made the smart decision of adding some rasam powder to make it… rasam. Found this orangish-brown powder in a ziplock bag and it smelt like it might be rasam powder. Went right ahead with a heaped teaspoon. Turns out that it was sambar masala, as informed by Pinch who also revealed that there IS no rasam powder in the house.

Thankfully, the end result was delicious!!!
