Loved the film. Excellent script that was executed perfectly, competent performances, good story – aur kya chaahiye? There is this song in the film ‘Sajnaaji vaari’. It is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and some guy whose name I don’t recall. Traditional melody with fast-paced high-bass remix beats. Could hardly keep myself from dancing when the song was playing. Well, the film ended and everyone filed out. Pinch wanted to use the restroom. When he went in, the credits were coming on and the song was playing. I went right back into the dark and empty theatre and started grooving to the music. There was an older lady too and she exclaimed, “Oh, I love this song!” and she started dancing too. Then that high bass resounded and we were sold… 🙂 Started dancing VERY seriously! The lady’s hubby peeped in and burst out laughing. There were a couple of Mexican theatre attendants standing outside and they could hardly keep the smiles off their faces. We were so completely immersed in the song and dance, so totally mast – it was wonderful. Soon enough, the song ended and we walked out… but it kept playing in my head!
Dancing does that to me. It gives me such a sense of being alive, such happiness and gratitude for being at that point in space and time, such joie de vivre… Guruji has mentioned about how every experience has a peak or something to that effect (I always fear that I’d mess up what He intended to say!) – I have experienced that peak while dancing. It always bring me to the point of wondering – is this joy for real?

Isn’t all joy real? Or do you refer to something else?
Mast song, that.

I loved it too… Looks like your movie watching experience was more interesting than the stuffy watching one has to do in multiplexes in India now. I miss the days when you could sing the songs along with the actors and nobody minded it because everybody was singing and dancing anyway. I loved the movie (it’s on the blog) and I absolutely adored the song. I didn’t like it too much in the trailers but it is awesome in the movie.

That is exactly how I feel about dance, too!! It gives me such a high…part of every weekend is spent looking forward to that weekend’s class, and IMMEDIATELY after the class I start looking forward to the next weekend 😀
On Mondays (when I’m still recovering from the prior weekend) I pray that noone else gets into the elevators with me, so I can dance a little on my way up and down the floors!!
