What is a cliche? Why are cliches so repugnant? Well, I think our mind is awfully cliche-ridden, isn’t it? That’s the wheel of karma. You do an action, someone does some action, it leaves an imprint on your psyche. It leaves some kind of an impression behind. This impression influences further actions and they leave subsequent impressions and the wheel rotates… Tell me, isn’t that impression just another cliche? Cliches don’t exist in Bollywood only; they exist right within. The key to salvation is to get out of this wheel of karma. Meaning, free your mind of all impressions and assumptions. Be like a child, fresh, vibrant and untainted by all the *learning* and experience that age slaps on you.

I didn’t understant all that karma-talk, but that’s a cliche in itself. Maybe a true one, but I don’t know.

Well, cliches are sayings you hear all the time. Therefore, they must be very popular. To be very popular, they must appeal to the opinion of the majority. The opinion of the majority isn’t nessecarily correct. In my view, it’s often an indication to the contrary. Don’t you think so?

Religion and sexism have also stood the test of time. *Panics at what he’s just typed, look around frightened, fingers in mouth, eyes popping out*

Interesting point. But must we generalise? Some cliches are true, others are not.
