In the wake of the recent disaster that struck South Asia and killed more than 22,000 people and left hundreds of thousands homeless, Art of Living Foundation and International Association of Human Values (IAHV) are sending their volunteers to help with the rehabilitation of the people in the disaster areas of India and other parts of Asia.
It’s times like these that give us an opportunity to open our heart and reach out in all the ways we can to help these thousands of people who may have to wait for months or even years to get back to their normal life. We urge everyone to contribute generously, as every bit counts to help these people!
Please forward this email to all your friends to help us reach out in a bigger way.

Art of Living and IAHV have been instrumental in providing such disaster relief in the past. Some of the relief efforts are listed below:
– A devastating earthquake hit the Indian subcontinent in the state of Gujarat on January 26, 2001. The quake, measuring 7.9 on the Richter Scale with its epicenter 20 km north-east of Bhuj in Gujarat, caused immense loss of life and property destruction. Art of Living volunteers immediately provided food, shelter and other basic necessities and much needed trauma counseling. The Art of Living Foundation also built several temporary schools and 2 permanent schools. It also adopted Nana Dahisara village for complete rehabilitation.
– After Sep 11 attacks in New York, the Art of Living Foundation provided free stress-relief programs for many months and our volunteers were active working with the firefighters and other relief organizations to help the families of the victims get back to their normal life.
– Bam Earthquake in Iran: Art of Living and IAHV launched a worldwide appeal in response to the devastating earthquake that hit the Iranian city of Bam on Friday 26, December 2003. With over 25,000 people estimated to have been killed and many more injured, IAHV and AOLF mobilized its resources to reach the earthquake victims in a very short time. Huge quantities of warm clothes were collected overnight in Europe and sent to Iran. Besides giving clothes and other essential amenities, the volunteers conducted trauma relief workshops for the victims towards providing a long term relief from the disaster.
